A celebration of the English countryside
Joining a growing movement of winemakers producing remarkable wine from England that’s capable of rivalling some of the best loved wines internationally, Mudwall is producing exceptional wine that’s a celebration of the English countryside
Mudwall vineyard, near Benenden village, lies in the heart of some of the prettiest Kentish Weald countryside. The vineyard sits within a traditional family-owned working farm comprising several hundred acres of farmland, woodlands and wildflower meadows. The land has a deep history in being productive. From iron ore and cloth weaving to growing hops and fruit trees, the people who have lived and worked here over the centuries have forged beauty from the earth. In 2020 we planted our first vineyard of over 12 acres of vines in a field that carried one of the oldest names - Marlpit - and Mudwall Wines was born. In 2022, we planted a second vineyard - Horse Field, this time with only Pinot Noir vines. The farm now has almost 4 hectares of vineyards. Our first harvest took place on 4th October 2022.

OUr WINE
Our first release is a very limited batch of English Rose made with the help and expertise of two of England’s greatest winemakers - Owen Elias and Nick Blampied-Lane. It is bright and expressive and in the style of the much loved Provencal roses. A delightful blend of Pinots, Chardonnay and Bacchus from the Mudwall Marlpit vineyard. Bright and refreshing, with hints of white currant, almond, hawthorn and gorse flowers on nose and palate; it has a gentle and lingering hedgerow herbal finish. Delicious to drink in summer sun, and occasionally in the UK, even in rain.
